Troubleshooting Internet Connection Issues on your Samsung TV

If the TV still does not connect to WIFI, try using these other methods:

  1. Hard reset the TV – Go to the Main Menu and select Service Menu – Click Factory Reset.
(For Samsung TVs if your TV does not have this menu, try turning off the TV, then on remote, press MUTE then 1, 8, 2, and POWER and service menu should appear, then choose FACTORY RESET – Don’t adjust any other settings!)
  2. Try both automatic and manual ip address inputs in TV menu – Manual IP – DNS SERVER to try is 8.8.8.8.
  3. In your router settings, set the 2.4GHZ channel from AUTOMATIC to 1, then reboot the router and try to connect.
  4. In the IP settings on the TV, switch the “IP settings and DNS Settings” to “Obtain Automatically”.
  5. Is it possible that you moved the router further away from the TV? If so, move the router back into a position so it can connect with your TV.

Still have issues connecting your TV to WIFI?

  • To check to find out if it’s a Television or Router issue, connect the TV to a wired internet connection to test if it will connect. Does it connect to the internet? If so, try to connect to a hotspot.
  • Use the hotspot from your phone to attempt to connect the TV. If it does not connect, it may be a TV issue such as a faulty part. There may be a faulty WIFI card, internal TV wifi adapter, a board, or wiring issues within the TV.

    Manoj,
Try updating the firmware on your TV to have the latest software update. This should fix the issue of the TV not connecting to WIFI. Create mobile hotspot, connect TV to it, then check for firmware update. Update TV, then try connecting to WIFI.

  2. I have VU 65 inch Smart TV, I tried all possible methods but still shows connected but no internet.
The same internet is working fine on laptop and if I create a mobile hotspot then the TV is also working fine.
Internet provider says call the TV technician and Tv technician says call the internet provider.

  3. Vizio D series TV 40”. Can’t connect to WIFI. Date and time shows 12/31/1999. Could that be the reason for not connecting? And can’t change the date/time. We’ve gone to menu-system-time. It won’t let us do anything but highlight time format. Cannot change time by using left/right on remote. We restored to original and it doesn’t change. Also there doesn’t appear to be an Ethernet plug on the tv if we wanted to go with wired.

  4. I have mobile wifi and have inputted the password and it isn’t connecting. Initially when I was connecting it to my phone before trying the TV it didn’t work so I had to use the QR code for the wifi device. This worked for the phone but I can’t use a QR code for the TV. The mobile wifi is a Huawei Mobile Wi-Fi 3s… anyone any ideas how to fix this

  9. I have a Samsung Model no UN55ES7150F that was just handed down from my dad & he did not have any issues with it. The TV recognizes my wireless network but will not connect. It will connect with a wired connection. All other devices have no issue with connecting to WiFi in the same room. I’ve reset the router. I’ve done a factory reset on the TV. I’ve tried changing the IP settings and DNS from automatic to manual and entered 8.8.8.8 for DNS and my router’s IP information for IP. Nothing is working. I did notice that the MAC address it is showing does not match the MAC address on my router. Could this be the issue? If so, is there a way to manually enter the MAC address? I am not seeing that option.

  17. Hi – I have a Samsung LE40C750R2K (that is in serious danger of being chucked off the danger of being smashed with a hammer)! I live on a residential site and connect to their wifi (so no physical connection at all to the any network). The TV has been working fine and then 4 days ago I could no longer connect to wifi. I have tried everything!! The SWL button is greyed out and I cannot change it – there is no option in network setting to switch to wireless – just seems to be stuck on wired! I had no idea how stressful technology could be! I have tried to reset the TV (think I did it but every site I visit – and there have been many – tells me something different) – have updated the software about 6 months ago with the latest version (so I doubt it’s that) – checked with the park and everyone else is connecting fine! If you can solve this one, I will be amazed and very very grateful – do you accept the challenge lol – Suzie
