19 Years — U.S. Air Force Aircraft Technician (2A674). I served as an F-16 fuel systems technician, retiring as a Technical Sergeant (E-6). The job demanded precision under pressure: fluid dynamics, high-pressure lines, electrical troubleshooting, and zero tolerance for guessing. I was hazmat-certified for hydrazine response — the rocket-grade fuel used in the F-16’s emergency power unit. Multiple combat deployments (Operation Northern Watch/Operation Southern watch) with hydrazine deployments. The discipline that work required carries into every repair I write about today.
9 Years — Commercial Food Service Equipment Repair. I spent nine years repairing the heavy machinery that runs supermarket delis, meat departments, and bakeries: Hobart slicers and mixers, Berkel grinders, Globe equipment, walk-in coolers, ovens, fryers.
