1990 to 2008
I served as an F-16 fuel systems technician, and was honorably discharged as a Technical Sergeant (E-6) in the US Air Force. The job demanded precision under pressure: fluid dynamics, high-pressure lines, electrical troubleshooting, and zero tolerance for guessing. I was hazmat-certified for hydrazine response — the rocket-grade fuel used in the F-16’s emergency power unit. Multiple combat deployments (Operation Northern Watch/Operation Southern Watch) with hydrazine deployments.
I spent nine years repairing the heavy machinery that runs supermarket delis, meat departments, and bakeries: Hobart slicers and mixers, Berkel grinders, Globe equipment, walk-in coolers, ovens, fryers. The same motors, capacitors, bearings, and seals that fail in a commercial kitchen are exactly the parts that fail in your home appliances — just scaled up.
