Pioneer AC Defrost

Defrosting of the outdoor heat exchange is controlled by the microprocessor from detection from the indoor pipe temperature sensor. Defrost control type is according to the JC on the PCB whether it is connected. According to the condition, enter the defrosting operation, the first defrosting operation time is 8 minutes; after defrosting operation for one cycle, then regulate the defrosting operation time if needed. After the compressor cumulative operation time exceeds 120 minutes and the temperature of the IPT is less than 95F for 2 minutes…

When the defrosting operation time on this condition exceeds 8 minutes, it will terminate. After the compressor operates continuously for 20 minutes and the IPT is less than 73F or from the last time of defrosting operation is 50 minutes or more interval. When the defrosting operation time on this condition exceeds 10 minutes, it will terminate.

When the JC isn’t connected on the PCB = When the conditions of a) or b) is satisfied, the defrosting operation starts. Under the heating operation, the compressor cumulative operation time exceeds 50 minutes and the temperature of the outdoor pipe temperature sensor reads lower than 14F. Under the heating operation, the compressor cumulative operation time exceeds 50 minutes, if the indoor pipe temperature sensor reads lower than 104F continuously for 2 minutes.

Pioneer AC Defrost terminating conditions

The outdoor defrost sensor reads 68F the defrosting operation will terminate.
The defrosting time exceeds 10 minutes the defrosting operation will terminate.

    Kirk,

It seems as if your Pioneer Inverter is displaying error codes OC and EL.
These codes typically indicate issues with the outdoor unit and the communication between the indoor and outdoor units.

OC: Outdoor unit malfunction, usually related to the compressor or fan motor.
EL: Communication error between the indoor and outdoor units.

My Pioneer Inverter stopped working and is flashing O C , E L.
I can not find what codes mean.

  3. Our pioneer indoor AC unit just started showing the Fy Error Code.
    No airflow.
    Was working great before.
    Can’t find that code anywhere.

  4. Our new (to us) home has a Pioneer mini split installed in the master bedroom. I checked to see if it had the WIFI dongle installed or if I should buy one and it turns out there is no USB port. There is a small card hardwired to the main board and placed where the USB port ‘should’ be. There are a couple lights on the card which blink occasionally which leads me to believe this might be a hardwired version of the dongle. There are a couple random WIFI networks which show up when the unit is in AP mode, one is locked and the other isn’t. The ‘12345678’ password doesn’t work on the locked network and the unlocked one gets me nowhere with the Pioneer Airlink or NetHome Plus apps. None of the auto-discovery options in the apps find the unit either… Please Help!!!

Just installed a 9000 btu 115v mini split. Outside unit fan is on but the condenser isn’t kicking on. Inside unit is on and function – no error codes. Checked the voltage on the poles outside – 120v. Not sure if this is a refrigerant issue or if there’s an actual issue with the compressor pcb.

  6. Just installed a Pioneer YN048 with a UB048. Powered everything up and all I get is 2 rapid flashes on the operation lamp every 3-4 seconds

  7. I have pioneer 12000 BTU it’s over a year , it’s display error code F5 . I had replace main PCB and out side, inside fan motor, now it’s display P4. I need some help, can everyone help? Thank you

  8. I have a Pioneer WS030GMFI17HLD and it is showing error code F0. It will not cool or heat. Does anyone know what this error code is?

  9. Dear, Sir/Madam
Anyone knows the exact resistance value of the 3 thermistor sensor of outdoor unit ( pioneer split type inverter 24,000 BTU, Outdoor model : AN024GMF117RPD.

    Thanks A lot..

  10. I have YN018GMFI16M2D-V2 Pioneer dual mini split. The unit powers up and runs until the compressor kicks on. Then I get an E4 error on the outside unit and E5 error on BOTH inside units. I have checked or replaced all thermistors. No change. Unit worked fine for 2 years. Any thoughts?

I just purchased the 12,000 btu unit in August.
The indoor blower quite working on heat mode. (It works in all other modes) there are no codes on the display. Just shows the temp that it is set for but fan doesn’t run. (everything else seems to be functioning normally). Any idea what’s going on?
    Thanks!

  12. I have purchased and installed several of these units, the last 2 have been pioneer 18k heat pumps, I just installed another, and there are no error codes, but the condenser will not run, fan or compressor, all wiring is fine, voltage is good, can anyone tell me what is wrong

The unit will not turn on there is no error code. Just stopped working. Lost the manual already changed the fuses on the box outside where the power is being ran from.

  14. We have a Pioneer inverter indoor model WS009GMF122HLD. Several times, it’s displayed the E1 error code, but it functions again after the power has been switched off for a few seconds and then back on. Today, it stopped responding to the remote control. No error message was displayed, but we were unable to turn the unit off or change the mode or temperature setting. We have other units, and the remote worked with them, so we believe the problem is with the inverter. Can you help? Thank you!
