Figuring out what type of glue to use to adhere one material to another is important. Since there are endless combinations of things that could be adhered together, there needs to be some sort of guide. For example, we needed to glue a piece of wood to metal that was going to hold over 100 pounds.

Try one of the Gorilla Brand Wood Glues. There are a few different types and some dry faster than others.

Yes certain super glues can glue your broken pottery back together. We use LOCTITE SUPER GLUE Professional Liquid on our broken pottery. This method is not 100% waterproof if you are going to use the pottery for plants and fill it with soil and water.
As long as you have all the pieces of the pottery and you align them perfectly when putting it back together, the Loctite can work.
If you do not have all the little pieces of the broken pottery and you will be putting water in the pot, use a waterproof heavy duty silicone so the pottery will not leak water.

What about gluing pottery to pottery? I have a beautiful pot that split perfectly in half. It is brand new (almost) and such a beautiful plant pot, I hate to throw it out. Would just plain ‘ol super glue work?

Try using Loctite Universal T.A.C…

What product would you recommend for vinyl to glass? I prefer a clear drying product.

There is a product called E6000 that works great for glass to glass. It is clear and is one of the best products for holding glass to glass for any type of projects.
