Problems with Costway Portable Washer
Water Leakage
Problem: Water leakage is a frequent issue with the Costway portable washing machine. This can be caused by loose hose connections, damaged hoses, or cracks in the tub.
Solution: To resolve water leakage, first ensure that all hose connections are tightened securely. Inspect the hoses for any signs of cracks or damage; if any are found, replace the hoses immediately. Additionally, check the tub for any visible cracks or leaks. If a crack is found in the tub, it might need to be repaired or replaced.
Excessive Noise and Vibration
Problem: The washer may produce excessive noise and vibration during operation, especially during the spin cycle. This can be due to an imbalanced load, the washer being placed on an uneven surface, or overloading.
Solution: Place the washer on a flat, stable surface to ensure it is level. Make sure to distribute the laundry evenly inside the washer to balance the load. Avoid overloading the washer as this can cause significant noise and vibration. If the problem persists, consider using vibration-absorbing pads under the washer’s feet.
Drainage Issues
Problem: The washer might experience drainage issues, resulting in water remaining in the tub after the wash cycle. This can be due to a kinked or clogged drain hose or improper positioning of the hose.
Solution: Check the drain hose for any kinks, clogs, or blockages and remove them if found. Ensure that the drain hose is positioned correctly, allowing gravity to assist with the drainage process. If the washer has a drain pump filter, clean it regularly to prevent blockages. Also, make sure the drain hose is not placed higher than the machine, as this can prevent proper drainage.
Spin Dryer Malfunctions
Problem: The spin dryer compartment may not function effectively, leaving clothes wetter than expected. This can be caused by overloading the spin dryer, tangled clothing, or debris build-up in the spin drum.
Solution: Do not overload the spin dryer compartment; follow the manufacturer’s guidelines for load capacity. Ensure that clothes are not tangled or wrapped around the spin drum before starting the spin cycle. Regularly clean the spin drum to remove any lint or debris that may hinder its operation. If necessary, perform maintenance as outlined in the user manual.
Control Panel Issues
Problem: The control panel might become unresponsive or malfunction, which can hinder the operation of the washing machine. This could be due to power supply issues, internal faults, or user error.
Solution: If the control panel is unresponsive, start by unplugging the washer for a few minutes and then plugging it back in to reset the system. Verify that the power supply is stable and that the machine is correctly plugged into a functioning outlet. Inspect the control panel for any visible damage. If the problem continues, consult the user manual for specific troubleshooting steps or contact customer support for further assistance.

Questions and Answers for the Giantex or Costway
Can you run both the washer and the spin dryer at the same time? Yes, you can use both sides at once. The left side is the washer, and the right side is the spin compartment to remove most of the water from clothes.
What are the best ways to elevate it if you don’t place it directly in the tub?
- Purchase a PVC foot locker and place the machine on top of it, then drape the hose into the tub.
- Use the styrofoam base it came with. It will provide additional height and stability.
How dry does the spin dryer get the clothes? Do you need to purchase a dryer as well? The spin dryer removes most of the water, but you might still want to use a dryer to fluff the clothes and remove any excess lint.
Will this hook up to a regular 3-prong American wall socket? Yes, it plugs right into a regular American wall socket.
Is this on wheels and is the dryer part ventless?
- It doesn’t have wheels but is lightweight and easy to move when empty.
- One tub is for washing, and the other is for spinning excess water from clothes. It isn’t an actual dryer and doesn’t require a vent as it only spins.

Vance,
If your Costway twin tub agitator won’t agitate unless you manually turn it, try these fix methods:
Check the agitator coupling: The agitator coupling connects the agitator to the transmission shaft. If it’s worn or damaged, the agitator won’t turn properly. Check the coupling for wear or damage and replace it.
Check the drive belt: The drive belt connects the motor to the transmission. If it’s loose or worn, the agitator won’t turn properly. Check the drive belt for wear or damage and tighten or replace it.
Check the agitator dogs: The agitator dogs are small plastic pieces that engage the agitator with the transmission shaft. If they’re worn or broken, the agitator won’t turn properly. Check the agitator dogs for wear or damage and replace them.
Check the transmission: The transmission is responsible for turning the agitator. If it’s faulty, the agitator won’t turn properly. Check the transmission for wear or damage and replace it.
Please let us know if this information helped you!

My Costway twin tub agitator won’t agitate. I can here the power click on but the agitator doesn’t move. If I reach in and give it a push with my hand it’ll run for several seconds but will not move again when the timer turns the motor on unless I push it. It is not an overloading issue. It does the same thing if it has no clothes and just water.
