  1. I had repeated d80 codes with my LG dryer that I got in Dec 2020. When I installed it I made sure to totally clean the 4″ metal vent pipe that went up through my wall and vented on my roof. I went on the roof and made sure the vent was clean with nothing blocking it. Did some research and the vent cap on the roof was really too small and also had been installed incorrectly back in 1996 when my house was built. I purchased a new larger dryer vent cap for the roof…had it installed and problem solved! Clothes dry much faster and never get the d80 code anymore. I purchased a DryerJack vent cap.

  2. We too almost always get the D80, sometimes the D90 and the 4 bars on the flowsense. Sometimes it still runs the full dryer cycle fine, sometimes I have to put it on multiple times. Our filters are clean, our vents work fine. And oddly we’ve noticed if we switch to speed dry function then all flowsense and D80 disappear. Does this mean it’s a sensor problem? Thanks!

  3. I get the d80 code. It started almost from the get go. I checked the vent and it’s clean. My clothes come out dry. My dryer is less than 2 months old. My venting hose is only a couple of feet. Any suggestions.

  4. DLe 2301r LG dryer says to check filter. I have, and also disconnected vent hose and cleared dryer. It still says to check filter.

  5. DLE7300ve dryer throwing d80 and d90 codes with flow sense light on a brand new unit with the dryer connected or not connected to the vent. New home so i knew tvents were fine. The issue was found in the dryer unit. During final assembly the heating unit was not fully engaged or connected to the heat defuser. LG tech

  6. I’m experiencing the same problem, the vent is clean, dryer shuts off before the clothes a dry telling me to clean the filter. Suggestions??

  7. I received a d80 right out of the box with my brand new LG 7300. So I did some reading/research. It seems the four elbows in my duct work might be the cause. My dryer is side vented due to the very shallow closet with no room to vent out the back. So I have an elbow inside the dryer leading to the side vent (1), an elbow leading to the back wall (2), an elbow leading up toward the roof (3), and an elbow in the cap on the roof (4).

  8. I’m having this same Dryer issue, just had the ducts cleaned out (which wasn’t even necessary) new tubing etc… did you find a resolution?

  9. Hello I have a LG gas dryer. Model number DLGX5681V. The dryer gives a flow sensor d90 error message. The duct is clean leading to the wall. The wall is clean. I have blown out the inside of the dryer exhaust with an air compressor as well as a shop vac. The sensor still goes off but not always. It seems that the larger the dryer load the more chances the error occurs. What do you think could be the issue? Heat element, thermal fuse?

  10. I’ve had our LG DLE1501W electric dryer for 1.5 years without any problems until recently.
I constantly get a D80 code on our LG dryer even though I have thoroughly cleaned the entire vent system from the inside of dryer to outside vent cap.
The vent run is approximately 12 ft.
I have reset the computer diagnostics according to the manual and have disconnected the power source several times, still get this error code, then it wants to shut down early in the cycle.
Do you happen to have any ideas on what to check or replacement of a part?
The service center in my area will not work on LG, but I have to equipment to repair if necessary.

  11. We get a D80 code on our LG dryer. I have cleaned the vents. The vent run is approximately 30 ft. the vent hose on the back was not connect properly and was venting into the utility room. After I reconnected we started getting the code. It is venting to the outside. Could this be caused by the length of the vent?

  12. our unit is saying “check filter”. i disconnected the vent line and re-attached…..still getting message. Next step??

  13. Dryer is taking longer than usual to dry. Clothes are warm, but wet. Flow sense and check filter lights have come on intermittently. No error codes. I have checked lint filter, hose from back of dryer all the way out of the house with minimal lint. Any other suggestions?

We had our exhaust air vent cleaned out and we are still getting that d95 error code on our LG dryer.

  15. I had the d90 code appear and we have removed quite a lot of lint from the exhaust tubes. Is it necessary to “clear” the error code from the dryer’s memory? Or will the error code disappear now that we have cleaned out the system?

  16. My LG dryer bought 4 years ago is displaying the “sense flow” light on but no error code. Is that’s ok? I check the vents and they are fine, no lint in the house vent.

  17. Have a 2015 DLEX3570V electric dryer.
    Just started displaying d80 codes.
    I’ve tried the following:
    – Replaced CPU, thermistors, heating element (which was defective)
    – Unplugged and ran in “Ins” mode without any venting – no d80 first time
    – Ran it again in “Ins” startup mode and displayed d80 code
    – Checked wall duct (6″ hard plastic) and no blockage
    – Used a drill and 18′ vent brush setup to double-check that vent duct is clear
    – Dryer shows d80 without vent or without vent hose

On-site appliance repairman is out of ideas, as am I.
Dryer works fine and dries completely, but only if we use Timed Dry mode.
All automatic modes will not work, as dryer stops 2 minutes after code appears.

    Thanks for your thoughts!

  18. My home is 35 years old. The dryer duct is clean. Could this newer dryer have different air flow expectations than older dryers?

  19. SOUNDS AS THOUGH YOU HAVE ONE OF THE FLEXIBLE EXHAUST HOSES. THESE ARE ONLY FUNCTIONAL WHEN BRAND NEW. THE LINT BUILDS UP INSIDE THEM RAPIDLY AS THE LINT AND MOISTURE COMBINE. BEST RESOLUTION IS TO TOTALLY REPLACE THIS WITH SMOOTH WALL EXHAUST PIPE AND AS FEW TURNS AS POSSIBLE

  20. My washer and dryer are 6 months old, it keeps throwing codes for the exhaust blockage. I’ve cleaned the entire exhaust system and its still throwing the code. Is there another cause for this or did I just waste $2000??

    Katja Tanninen,
We see no bE error code for LG dryers in our database.
Could it be dE instead of bE?
Please recheck and let us know.

My LG dryer starts for about half a minute.
Then there is a strange sound and it stops and shows the error code bE.
    Can you help me?

    I have a LG Dex 5680v Dryer.
The flow sense light on the display is not working.
Is there a way to fix it, I’ve already tried resetting the dryer.
