My Split system AC has an error code that I cannot understand or find anywhere online. There is no technician available in my area to come out and troubleshoot my AC system. My AC has an error code and my AC is not blowing cold air. Is there a way to completely reset the split system AIRCON and attempt to clear the error code? My AC is not working right now and it is the hottest time of the year.

If any error codes show on your split AC display, you should look up the error code in the service manual and find out what the exact issue is. Once you know the exact error code issue, you can either clean the AC unit, reset the unit, or replace a part that is causing the fault in your AC unit. See the bottom of the page for AC error codes for different AC brands. If you cannot find the error code definition and want to try to reset the AC unit you can attempt to reset the AC unit by turning OFF the main switch on your outdoor unit.

Note about this procedure: This POWER OFF/POWER ON procedure is for attempting a reset after an error code shows on your AC display. Resetting (powering down) the AC unit MAY clear the error code depending on what the error code is. The method on this page can be considered a first step when troubleshooting a split AC unit showing an error code.

It is recommended to find out what the error code is and HOW TO FIX THE AC UNIT SO THE ERROR CODE CLEARS. If you know what the error code definition is, you do not have to try this method, simply follow the directions for how to clear the error code by following the AC unit service manual or from a HVAC professionals advice.

Remember, not all split AC units are the same, some steps may be slightly different when attempting the POWER OFF/POWER ON reset method so please be aware of this. Also, please always use caution when working with electricity as high volts can be a hazard.

Turning off the main outdoor ON/OFF switch will cut electrical power to the main board and clear the memory of the air conditioning functions which may clear it and or erase/reset the error code.

    I have a AIR-CON series BLUE 2 18,000 BTU’s.
I am almost positive that using the A/C mode last year in the auto mode when I set the temp for 74 degrees (or any temp) that when it reached the temp, the unit would stop blowing till the room got warmer then come on again.
Now this year I don’t feel it doing that, it will just blow the air.
I called AIR-CON one guy said to disconnect power for hour and let him know it worked, I called back to say no and another guy said the unit DOES NOT WORK that way.
Why would they have AUTO version and also fan speed hi-med-low?
