How To Create Custom Emoticons In Facebook Chat IM

Facebook allows its users to chat and instant message their friends using customized emoticons. All you need is a page or a profile ID or username. Facebook will let you use their profile picture as your chat emoticon in the thumbnail.

custom chat emoticons 4How to Do it:
Step 1. Go to any profile page on Facebook that you want to use as an emoticon.
Step 2. Look for the profile ID in letters or numbers at the end of the URL. For example “AmericanAirlines” from
Step 3.
Add the username or the number in double brackets like this [[AmericanAirlines]]
Some pages have no username that is spelled out in letters. When you cannot find a page username, just use the numbers at the end of the URL. Just like this [[171108522930776]].

Here is a short list of user id’s that you can use for custom emoticons and memes.

Adding double brackets around certain Facebook ID numbers will create an emoticon. If you make a custom profile on Facebook you can then use the page ID in double brackets and it will show a tiny thumbnail of the picture from that page.

Another way to add your profile picture as an emoticon is to right click on your profile picture and click properties or image info. Your browser should show you a URL. It will look something like this: One of the number strings is your profile ID and one is your picture ID. Your profile ID is normally the third string, and the photo ID will usually be the second string. Copy the photo id number. Let’s use the example above (from Southwest Airlines) and say it’s “10151736785853949”. You then double bracket the number [[10151736785853949]] and then press enter. You should then see your chosen photo.

Here is a USER ID custom alphabet that can be used in Facebook.
